William Marsh: Vermont Patriot and Loyalist Presentation
When:
Where: Monkton Town Hall Community Room and Museum, Monkton
William Marsh was once a close confidante to the founders of Vermont, but ostracized after spying on General Burgoyne's army during the British Invasion from Canada that culminated in the Battle of Saratoga. The presentation explores why Marsh spied, how he affected the New Hampshire Grants' pursuit of independent Statehood, and his relationship to Ethan and Ira Allen. Presented by the Monkton Museum and Historical Society.
