Chats in the Stacks: Conversations About Water, First-Gen Week Edition
When:
Where: Howe Library, Burlington, VT
Water connects us all — from the ocean biome to the systems that treat our wastewater to the mountain communities that depend on clean water. Join three UVM faculty for a conversation about water-related research that crosses disciplines but shares a common purpose: asking complex scientific questions that address urgent societal and environmental challenges. As part of National First-Gen Week, we'll also explore the paths these first-generation faculty members took into research and scholarship — and the possibilities that research can open for all students. Panelists include Laura May-Collado, Ph.D. (UVM Associate Professor, Department of Biology), Matthew Scarborough, Ph.D. (UVM associate professor, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering), and Beverley Wemple, Ph.D. (UVM professor, Department of Geography and Geosciences). Join us in person; refreshments will be served.
