The Eyetraps, Mimi Fang, MOMDAD, & Yabai! [LCLS]
When:
Where: Light Club Lamp Shop, Burlington, VT
The Eyetraps Alex Frantz and Zack Shafer, both singers and guitarists, had been writing and playing together for five years. After moving from Ohio to Vermont, they brought in bassist Phil Smith, and drummer Sophie Powell to form The Eyetraps. Drawing inspiration from ’90s grunge and modern indie rock, their self-titled debut EP is built on heavy, distorted guitars, raw vocals, and stacked harmonies to tell tales of regret, loss, and the lies we tell ourselves. Mimi Fang Mimi Fang is an alternative singer songwriter whose music conveys narratives that seek to bring you a little deeper into your own experience while immediately immersing you in the world they've created. Her songs are a dance, evoked through the push and pull of her intimate lyrical sincerity and contrasting cathartic, driving power pop melodies. With raw, emotional clarity Mimi Fang creates a listening space where laughter, tears, and life's biggest questions can all come to exist at once. Yabai! = YABAI! is an indie rock band out of Burlington, VT. It began in 2023 as the brainchild of frontman Phil Smith, who had just returned to Vermont after living in Japan for two years, and had a lot to write about. After a few jam sessions with friends, YABAI! emerged as a fully-fledged indie rock band with Eric Winebrenner on bass, Mitchell Bergeron on lead guitar, and Avery Cooper on drums. Their high-energy singalong songs make every show an interactive experience with the crowd. Their first album, Out of Touch, released on 5/3/25 and is available for streaming everywhere, and can also be downloaded for free on Bandcamp.
